"Vis Styrke"
Danish. English translation: Show Strength
In the face of adversity, in spite of the odds, without hesitation for those whom we love so dearly.
The Styrke Foundation was founded on a legacy of courage and resilience.
What We Do
The Styrke foundation raises money to fund research into rare and ultra-rare genetic paediatric diseases.
Each condition is may be individually rare – however , combined, and with a genetic commonality, these diseases are vast in number and affect millions of children worldwide.
We help to fund cutting-edge research to explore Translational validity in gene therapy treatments to find a cure of these disesases, which can be scaled using platform technology.
Strength and Resilience in our DNA
Inspired by a legacy of extraordinary strength, the foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of children with rare diseases.
This Scandinavian background is inspired by the groundbreaking gene research undertaken at Lund University and Karolinska Institute.
The foundation is named “Styrke,” the Danish word for Strength, in honor of the children who suffer from these rare diseases.
Our Nordic Roots
The foundation’s logo is inspired by Sól, the sun god of Norse/Germanic mythology, epitomizing strength.
Drawing from the Nordic rune Uruz, a symbol of bound and fiery energy, the foundation embodies the inexhaustible power that lies within every human being.
Uruz represents the breeding ground for powerful deeds, endurance, and virility, as well as natural structures, original knowledge, and the wisdom of the earth.
For those seeking advice, Uruz signifies the importance of directing all concentration and strength towards personal development. Looking to the future, Uruz represents renewal, growth, vitality, and healing.
Our Mission
The Styrke Foundation is a beacon of hope for those battling rare genetic and hematological diseases.
We are committed to bridging the gap between scientific discovery and clinical application, accelerating the development of life-changing therapies.
By harnessing the power of genetic commonality and investing in innovative research, we aim to transform the lives of millions of children worldwide.
Join us in our mission to conquer rare diseases and build a brighter future for all.
Steadfast and Unwavering
Founded in 2024 by a family whose loved one suffers from an ultra-rare disease, Stryke was born out of frustration with the limitations of standard care. Tired of being told to accept suboptimal treatments, the family sought to drive innovation and break through the status quo.
Stryke is already making significant strides, investing hundreds of thousands of dollars in programs poised to enter clinical trials within the next six months. These FDA Investigational New Drug (IND) ready programs offer hope for patients and their families.
Overcoming all obstacles
We face significant challenges in our mission to fund genetic research for rare pediatric diseases.
One major hurdle is the lack of public awareness about these conditions and the urgent need for innovative treatments.
Additionally, securing adequate funding remains a constant struggle, despite the abundance of promising research opportunities that could revolutionize patient care.
Our Urgent Appeal
Currently, hundreds of thousands of children worldwide are collectively affected by diseases for which there is no cure; these children are dying slow, terrible deaths.
In many cases the care they receive exacerbates their conditions by offering them a temporary salvation that brings long-term suffering.
Managing these children is also a massive resource and financial burden on the healthcare system that could be avoided if we could develop these therapies and bring them to the bedside.
The Future is Bright
With Your Help
We can rewrite the future for hundreds of thousands – if not millions – of children who are collectively afflicted with ultra-rare, monogenic, terminal illnesses.
By demonstrating the viability of developing life-saving treatments within a successful business model, Syrke will inspire the scientific and investment communities to prioritize these critical needs.
