Understanding the Challenge
Before we dive into specific fundraising objectives, it’s essential to clarify the core issue: the so called valley of death in rare disease drug development. The Styrke Foundation aims to bridge this gap by providing crucial funding for translational research.
Given the foundation’s mission and the identified challenges, our objectives are as follows:
Short-Term Objectives
1-2 Years
Secure initial funding
At least $25m, to support ongoing clinical trials and research projects.
Establish partnerships
With at least three Pharmaceutical companies or academic institutions to co-fund research initiatives.
Increase public awareness
Of rare diseases and the foundation’s mission through:
- social media and influencer outreach,
- news and celebrity outreach, policy events and initiatives
- ongoing engagement with news outlets, including the financial markets
To generate global awareness
If every family impacted by the kinds of illnesses we focus on could donate $5, we would more than double our fundraising goal!
Develop a robust donor database
Of 500 Individuals and corporations to support ongoing fundraising efforts.

Raise $25m
To establish a sustainable endowment fund to support long-term research initiatives.
Develop a successful fundraising campaign

Achieve direct impact on patients by delivering at least two commercially available therapy in a target disease, such as 10,000 patients globally benefiting from treatments developed with the foundation’s support.
